Losee Consulting is now B Corp Certified.
We’ve made our commitment official – not because it’s a trend, but because expectations on businesses today are evolving rapidly. Across Australia, particularly in Queensland, organisations face increasing scrutiny: environmental claims are challenged, supply chains must be transparent and mandatory climate reporting is expanding. Investors, employees, regulators and clients are asking tougher questions about credibility and accountability.
In this environment, good intentions are no longer enough.
The problem with “sustainability claims”
Many businesses genuinely want to do the right thing, but bold statements without evidence have created greenwashing fatigue. Today, it’s not enough to simply say you care – you need proof and it must be embedded consistently across all operations.
For us, that raised a key question:
How do we ensure our commitment to people, communities and the planet is real and reflected in how we operate, not just what we say?
Why B Corp and why now
B Corp Certification is an independent, third-party verified assessment of a company’s performance across five key domains: governance, workers, community, environment and customers.
Achieving certification demonstrates that a business:
- Meets rigorous, audited standards
- Legally commits to balancing profit with purpose
- Publicly commits to transparency and continuous improvement
Becoming a B-Corp means never settling for ‘good enough’ when you know you can be and do better.
To certify as a B Corp, a business must be awarded at least 80 points on the B Impact Assessment and most businesses usually achieve an average score of around 50-55 points.
Losee Consulting achieved an overall B Impact Score of 82.7, reflecting strong performance across all areas of assessment.
“We have always been a for-purpose company. Our long-standing values include ‘Leading by example’ and ‘Purpose in our work’.
Certification as a B Corp tells us our understanding of ‘for purpose’ aligns with others’. It gives us an opportunity to profile that essential element of what we are as a business, lets us work with the wider B Corp community and find ways to improve.
Since we are also involved in certified ratings in the field of sustainability, gaining the B Corp certification aligns with the importance we place on objective, third-party endorsements.”

Our values in action
This certification is not just about compliance or reputation; it’s a demonstration that we live our values every day. At Losee, we are guided by:

Leading by example
We have robust governance processes guiding how we work with our people and clients, including responsible office waste management and managing our carbon emissions.

Truthfulness
Certified for Climate Active since 2021, we hold ourselves accountable by measuring, managing, and transparently reporting our impacts.

Fair dealing
We follow ethical engagement procedures with every partner and client.

Purpose in our work
When we engage with high impact or ‘controversial’ industries, it is with a clear purpose: supporting meaningful sustainability transitions and long-term improvement.

Kindness and empathy
Our policies and practices protect people and respect difference – including our Human Rights Policy, Sustainability and Environmental Policy, Modern Slavery commitments and cultural awareness training.

Absence of errors
We strive for accuracy in every aspect of our work, ensuring the integrity of our data and decisions. This supports high standards of performance and continuous improvement.
Lessons learned on the journey
Pursuing certification reinforced the importance of clear leadership, organisation and shared accountability. It required collaboration across the team and a willingness to critically assess where we could improve, highlighting areas where governance, employee engagement and sustainability practices intersect.
Importantly, this journey underscored that B Corp is not a one-off milestone but a framework for continuous improvement – a principle we carry forward in supporting our own clients when navigating evolving sustainability standards, reporting requirements and regulatory expectations.
Market context: why it matters to our clients
B Corp certification is a strategic response to evolving regulatory, investor and client expectations. Key trends impacting our sector include:
- Global net zero commitments: The Paris Agreement requires a 45% reduction in emissions by 2030 and net zero by 2050.
- Queensland major projects pipeline: Between 2024/25 and 2028/29, it is valued at $103.92 billion, increasing demand for credible sustainability advisory.
- Mandatory reporting & greenwashing regulation: Carbon and climate reporting is required for many large Australian businesses, and the ACCC has introduced strict guidelines on environmental claims.
- Investor expectations: Gen Z and Millennial investors are highly likely to select advisers based on sustainability criteria (96% and 92%, respectively).
- Under-resourced sustainability teams: Many organisations lack capacity to meet reporting requirements, with over 90% at risk of missing net-zero targets.
For contractors and SMEs in Queensland, these pressures translate into real challenges around compliance, risk management, budgeting and long-term growth.
B Corp certification allows us to demonstrate that we take these responsibilities seriously and gives clients confidence in the integrity of our operations.
For our clients, working with a B Corp certified business signals engagement with a more responsible supplier. It also supports their own sustainability and procurement requirements, including alignment with Queensland Government expectations around ethical, social, and environmental standards. In this way, we hold ourselves to the same high standards we expect of the organisations we work with.
Relevance for our clients and partners
B Corp Certification strengthens our ability to support organisations that:
- Want credible, defensible sustainability strategies
- Need to manage regulatory and reporting risk
- Care about reputation, trust, and long-term value
- Seek advisers who genuinely “walk the talk”
Forward-looking commitments
B Corp is a platform for continuous improvement, not a one-time achievement. Over the past year, we have:
- Introduced a Home Offices Environmental Stewardship Policy, promoting energy efficiency, responsible procurement, and sustainable remote work practices
- Reduced car commuting by 8.35%
- Improved waste management with Terracycle
- Enhanced HR systems and formalised ethical engagement procedures aligned with ISO 20400
- Continued participation in Clean Up Australia Day and sustainability education initiatives
Looking ahead, we plan to:
- Track and report on workforce diversity and stakeholder engagement
- Improve our Environmental Management System with measurable targets for energy, waste, and carbon intensity
- Release a public impact report at the end of the financial year
These steps demonstrate that B Corp is not the end point – it is a foundation for ongoing improvement, transparency and accountability.
Our commitment, made official
Becoming a B Corp formalises what has always mattered to us and validates the way we operate every day – embedding accountability, transparency and purpose into our business and client relationships.
We’ve made our commitment official.
We look forward to helping others do the same.
