Tweed Shire Council had numerous policies contributing to environmental sustainability but lacked an overall integrated vision and strategy. The consultant team, including Losee Consulting, Buckley Vann, and The Long View Group, compiled a complete list of hundreds of policies, principles, and actions for review.

David Corkill and Scott Losee facilitated two workshops with Council executives to develop and prioritise the actions. The team carefully crafted a strategy to draw out existing priority commitments, describe principles, and propose new actions for gap areas. We emphasised existing processes and Tweed’s statutory Community Strategic Plan to create an implementable strategy.

The final strategy included a prioritisation framework to guide ongoing Council decision making. The strategy was successful at public exhibition and was adopted by Council.
