Maleny Dairies is a family-owned business who are as passionate about their environment as they are about their milk. The dairy was planning a prominent campaign to promote its commitment to a sustainable future, featuring becoming Queensland’s first ‘carbon positive’ dairy. However, the team was conscious that this needed to be thoroughly backed by evidence.

The dairy engaged Losee Consulting’s Registered Climate Active consultants to become a carbon neutral organisation, and then went beyond neutralising emissions to investing in additional credits for environmental restoration.

Our work included the following:

• Carbon footprint analysis
• Developing the Public Disclosure Statement
• Advising on a carbon offsetting strategy
• Arranging the purchase and retirement of carbon offsets.

Through our direct involvement in acquiring and retiring credits, we were able to realise savings for the dairy.

After becoming Australia’s first Climate Active certified dairy, Maleny Dairies proceeded with its wide-reaching advertising, staking its firm intent to continue its sustainability leadership.
