Logan Enhancement Project—Tender Design
Tender phase sustainability to provide a competitive offering, geared to Transurban’s sustainability aspirationsProject
Following a tender loss, CPB Contractors sought a more compelling sustainability offering for its next major tender: the $512 million Logan Enhancement Project motorway upgrade in southern Brisbane.
We worked with the design and construction teams to recognise sustainability attributes of their plans and find cost-effective ways to boost sustainability.
Solution
We achieved this via the following:
- Convening workshops
- Devising an Innovations and Sustainability Register
- Conducting dry runs with the Infrastructure Sustainability (IS) rating
- Liaising with discipline leads
- Formulating supplier questionnaires that aligned with CPB Contractor’s parent company procurement requirements.
This was the first project to adopt Version 1.2 of the IS rating scheme and apply its materiality assessment. Scott developed an Initial Sustainability Management Plan and attuned it to Transurban’s desire for tangible commitments and alignment to corporate strategy, including an aspirational target rating goal.
Transurban awarded CPB Contractors, who delivered an ‘Excellent’ Design rating and ‘Leading’ As Built rating.
