Bundaberg Hospital Redevelopment—Detailed Business Case Sustainability Assessment
Workshop facilitation and development of the sustainability chapter for the DBCProject
In 2019, the Queensland Government announced $6.7 million to develop a Detailed Business Case (DBC) for delivery of a brand new, state-of-the-art public hospital on a greenfield site in Bundaberg.
The Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service worked with the government (now the Department of State Development, Infrastructure, Local Government and Planning) to prepare the DBC for the redevelopment of the Bundaberg Hospital.
DBCs inform infrastructure investment decisions that affect Queensland’s economic and social domain. Their sustainability assessment components consider the design, construction and operational aspects to optimise governance, environmental, social and economic outcomes.
Solution
In conjunction with Phillips Group, Losee Consulting assisted in developing the DBC’s sustainability chapter, including:
- Reviewing sustainability issues from the preliminary business case
- Key stakeholder engagement to identify community priorities
- Interpreting and applying the Sustainability Assessment Framework
- Preparing the final sustainability chapter
Our chapter becomes part of the overall DBC to advise the government on its investment decision.
