Losee Consulting Pty Ltd is pleased to announce the appointment of leading built environment specialist Andrew Aitken as an Associate.
The move is aimed at keeping faith with the firm’s growing list of clients and significant projects and provides a timely boost to its senior expertise and leadership.
‘Our goal is to help our clients deal with their sustainability, climate change and environmental challenges,’ Losee Consulting Director Scott Losee said.
‘We can take this “to the next level” with Andrew on board,’ Losee said.
Scott and Andrew first worked together at Brisbane City Council in the early 2000s where they collaborated on policy break-throughs such as the innovative Sustainable Housing Code for South East Queensland.
Andrew is best known for his work as Executive Director at the Green Building Council and Livable Housing Australia, but he has also led a sustainability consulting team at Arup and electrical engineering teams in the building services sector.
Andrew is looking forward to translating his extensive background in Green Star across to the infrastructure sector, which is booming in Queensland with headline projects such as Cross River Rail, Inland Rail and significant upgrades to motorways and airports.
The move also responds to growing public sector interest in realising cost savings and community benefits through thoughtful application of sustainability and enhanced environmental policies.

Biography of Andrew Aitken
Andrew is a senior built environment professional specialising in sustainability and energy. As an electrical engineer with 28 years experience, Andrew offers a unique blend of skills to applied sustainability in infrastructure, buildings and development—including building services, alternative energy, energy efficiency and carbon management. Andrew has been intimately involved in creating sustainability rating systems, including as Executive Director, Green Star, with the Green Building Council of Australia (2008-2012), Executive Director of Livable Housing Australia (2013-2014) and with Brisbane City Council (2006-2008). At GBCA, Andrew led the development of rating tools, project certifications and education programs. He worked at a global level to establish common carbon metrics for the buildings sector. Andrew is a skilled facilitator and engaging presenter. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering from QUT and is an RPEQ, Electrical.
