Following a disappointing tender loss, CPB Contractors sought a more compelling sustainability offering for its next major tender—the $512M Logan Enhancement Project motorway upgrade in southern Brisbane.
Scott Losee worked with the design and construction teams to help them recognise the sustainability attributes of their plans and find cost-effective ways to boost sustainability. Scott achieved this by convening workshops; devising an innovations and sustainability register; conducting dry-runs with the Infrastructure Sustainability rating tool; liaising with discipline leads and formulating supplier questionnaires that aligned with CPB Contractor’s parent company procurement requirements. This was the first project to adopt Version 1.2 of the rating scheme and apply its materiality assessment.
Scott developed an Initial Sustainability Management Plan, attuned to client Transurban’s desire for tangible commitments and alignment with its corporate strategy, including an aspirational target rating goal. Transurban awarded CPB Contractors the contract and Losee Consulting continued to lead sustainability in delivery for the design phase.
