The Infrastructure Sustainability Council of Australia (ISCA) is a not-for-profit industry association that encourages sustainability in infrastructure, primarily through its rating scheme. ISCA needed a spreadsheet tool to serve as the cornerstone of its rating process.
Following his earlier work on a ‘Quick Check’ system for ISCA’s predecessor, AGIC, Scott worked with ISCA to structure the 50 rating credits into a logical, three-level format. He incorporated the results of the weightings survey and developed a user-friendly tool that automatically responded to inputs like rating type and scope-outs. The tool included easy to read bar charts, spider graphs and tabulated output.
Scott is currently updating and enhancing the IS scorecard on behalf of ISCA. The new version will move to a vertical format and allow for future developments of the scheme such as flexibly weighted credits and manual over-ride for verifiers. The current IS scorecard may be downloaded for free here.
