Sustainability is a principle to influence decisions, to maintain and enhance quality of life, now and in the future. It requires an integrated consideration of economic, environmental and social factors. Is sustainability meaningful to you, or too theoretical? It is an all-encompassing concept about working towards a better world, but this can be difficult to operationalise. Since the 1987 Brundtland Report, practitioners have worked on breaking sustainability down and applying it to various areas of human endeavour, including buildings and infrastructure.
Losee Consulting specialises in applying sustainability to large scale infrastructure, particularly transport, water and energy. Scott was a founder of the Infrastructure Sustainability Council of Australia (ISCA) and has played a pivotal role in its development, including creating the Infrastructure Sustainability (IS) scorecard, becoming a Verifier for ratings, and serving on the board and Technical Steering Committee. We are uniquely positioned to help clients gain high IS ratings.
We work alongside engineers, scientists, architects, planners and consultation professionals to discover, develop and evaluate innvoations that genuinely advance sustainability.
Strong corporate sustainability programs create value for organisations. This value comes less from reducing input costs like energy (as is commonly supposed) and more from better strategy, support for innovation, employee engagement and risk management. Losee Consulting can develop complete sustainability programs including behaviour change, sustainability metrics and formal reporting such as for the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) or the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP). Scott’s experience includes developing the first GRI report for AECOM, a global, NYSE Fortune 500 firm.
